Competition Dates: June 23, June 24, June 25, 2017

The Fight of the Fittest team is seeking volunteers who are looking to work in a fun atmosphere alongside the highly motivated, energetic team.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for the Fight of the Fittest Competition! This is the first event of its kind in Western Canada.

The success of Fight of the Fittest relies heavily on our volunteers. As a volunteer, you are a vital component in coordinating an event of this magnitude and because of this, we want to do everything we can to show our appreciation for your time, dedication, diligence and commitment.

Volunteer Benefits

In addition to providing you with a lasting and memorable experience, we want to offer the following perks. For a 2-day (or more) commitment, volunteers receive a minimum of:

  • One Volunteer Event T-Shirt.
  • FREE admission to the event on the day(s) you volunteer with your volunteer credentials.
  • Lunch and/or Dinner provided while volunteering.
  • Snacks, water and coffee provided while volunteering.
  • Various breaks throughout your shift.
  • Best seats in the house!
  • Being a part of the exciting behind the scenes action.
  • Shifts

    Volunteer shifts are available Thursday, June 22, 2017 to Sunday June 25, 2017.

    Competition Dates are Friday, June 23, 2017 to Sunday, June 25, 2017.

    Volunteers will be asked to work a minimum of two days. Priority will be given to those volunteers who can work more than 2 days. Shifts will run all day, with exact hours varying by department. Volunteers need to have open availability on the days they sign up to volunteer.

    Volunteer Selection Process

    When selecting volunteers we look for:

  • Previous competition volunteer experience.
  • Availability to work 2 or more days (the more shifts you will work the better)
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and / or spend numerous hours on your feet.
  • Volunteer positions are filled on a first come basis, register early to secure your spot on the Fight of the Fittest team.
  • Please read through the descriptions of each of the divisions below and choose one that will best fit your abilities.

    Event Operations

    Members of this team will be working to set up and take down the event as well as move equipment during event transitions. They are responsible for all the set-up and take down of competition equipment and the arena floor. There will be shifts available pre-event, during the competition and post event. Members of this team will be asked to lift heavy weight and move large equipment. Previous experience with building rigs and setting up a competition floor is an asset.

    Event Support

    This team will be working a variety of tasks to support both the athletes, spectators and fellow crew members. Members of this team will have opportunities to work behind the scenes and up close to the action. With a variety of positions available we have something for everyone. Be ready to move around the arena during your shift as you experience the competition.

    This will include registration, ticketing, athlete support, crew runners, scoring, security, etc.

    Medical Crew

    Members of this team will work both on the competition floor and in the athlete area. We are seeking professionals for our EMS Medical Support Crew and Sports Medicine Crew throughout the event. Team members must have the correct certifications/licenses and previous experience working in these areas. Those registering for the Medical Crew must include their certifications/licenses and previous experience with their registration.
